School gardens provide valuable learning experiences that encourage students to apply what they learn in the classroom and experience it in a hands-on, experiential way. Whether indoors on a window sill, vertical or hydroponic system or outdoors in raised beds or container gardens, the focus on environmental education, nutrition education, sustainability, history, biology, science, math, water cycles and a host of traditional curricula taught in schools makes school gardens an important part of learning along with 21st Century Skills and STEM education.
